Not that I have very many followers of this blog, but I know that blogging on 1Red has been light (non-existent) this summer. This has been the summer of Hell, not that it’s been a very hot summer at all.
I’ve been off work this summer due to personal reasons, and unfortunately Hubby was let go this summer, also. They told him the branch was closing the same day it closed. Other (not so great) things have happened, too, but the by the grace of God we’re hanging on. Of course, prayers are always appreciated.
However, these things have not stopped me from checking out what’s going on and wondering what the heck is happening. There are lots of disheartening stories out there, Barack Obama (need I say more?) health care stupidity, appeasement, the “stimulus” bill, cries of raaaaacism, and on and on and on……
On the other hand, good news! ACORN got busted, Van Jones the racist got canned, and so many people showed up for the DC Tea Party my heart burst! Oh, and someone is getting their comeuppance.
My daily reads for info include HotAir, Ace of Spades, 2.0 Blogmocracy, The Other McCain and Wintery Knight Blog. Check out The Coffee Shop and Holgar Awakens, too! Last but certainly not least, the people at Table 9 have been good friends to me, giving me both intelligent debate and levity.
Of course, I wouldn’t have made it through this summer without my God. I’ve been reading through the Bible with Prof. Horner’s Bible reading program, and I love it! I’ve read “Hard to Believe” and “The Gospel According to Jesus” by John MacArthur, “Basic Christianity” by John Stott, I discovered Paul Yancey’s “Disappointment with God”, and Leif Enger’s “Peace Like a River”. I’m now reading “Living With Confidence in a Chaotic World” by Dr. David Jeremiah and “Knowing God” by J I Packer. I podcast John MacArthur’s “Grace to You”, Mark Driscoll’s Mars Hill Church, and Wretched Radio.
Our church has been a God-send to us. We are so blessed to have found such a wonderful, Spirit-led church. Our brothers and sisters there truly care and have given us shoulders to cry on, ears to listen, help and prayers when we so desperately need it.
So, anyway, you have not seen the last of 1Red. Blogging may be light, but I will endeavor to get here often. I don’t mind hearing myself talk, and I LOVE sharing links and video!

Glad you are back to writing! Look forward to many more posts!
Red is back!! And all is right in the world again.
